NEW HONDA CR-Z HYBRID ARRIVES AT COLLIERS HONDA
The new Honda CR-Z has arrived at our Erdington showroom to rave reviews from Honda customers who have already seen it.
First and foremost, the CR–Z is designed to turn heads – with the innovative and sporty looks you’d expect from a Honda coupe. And with its agile handling, direct steering and 6–speed transmission, it’s also great fun to drive.
But Honda didn’t want to stop there. They decided the CR-Z would be a hybrid too - the first of its kind on the road. This not only offers cleaner exhaust emissions, but also helps the CR–Z feel even nippier.

Drive System
The unique 3-Mode Drive system of the CR-Z means you can choose whether you wish to boost your enjoyment or economy on each trip out – or get the perfect mix of both.
By switching to SPORT, ECON or NORM, the CR-Z will automatically alter the responses of the throttle, steering, idle stop time and climate control, and the level of support from its IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system.
Each driving mode is also linked to the meter lighting, changing from red (SPORT) to blue (NORM) to green (ECON).
Performance
The CR-Z is the first in the world to combine a precise, driver-focussed 6-speed manual gearbox with a low emission, parallel hybrid system – made possible by the flexibility of Honda’s IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system.
The 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder i-VTEC engine is also new to the UK, and works with the electric motor to provide a total power output of 124PS and 174Nm of torque. The electric motor also provides an unusually flat torque curve for a naturally aspirated engine – with the maximum arriving at just 1,500rpm. Both sound great together too.
This unique coupling offers CO2 emissions of just 117 g/km and fuel economy of 56.4mpg (preliminary figures and subject to homologation).
Innovative Design
The exciting, sporty looks of the CR-Z are born from a "one-motion wedge" concept, with a low bonnet line and wide stance. These looks are complemented by features such as the split level rear glass hatch and deep, muscular sculpting.
And the CR-Z is designed for greater economy and cleanliness too, with the shallow raked roofline and sharply truncated tail allowing it to cut through the air with minimal disturbance.
The CR-Z has also been cleverly designed to give you a 2+2 layout, allowing you to share the driving pleasures of our sporty hybrid coupe with your family and friends.
High Specification
Another first for Honda that you’ll find on the European CR-Z are daytime running lights – eight LEDs that bring out the lower line of the sweeping headlights. Combined with the front fog lights, they provide a neatly tailored look.
The wheelbase, track width and set-up have all been designed specially for the CR-Z, creating a responsive chassis that provides the agile handling you need both in town and out on the open road.
The CR-Z also features forged aluminium MacPherson struts for low weight and great strength.
